Forever Friends

This past monday (Presidents Day) I had the joy of getting together with 2 friends from long ago. Shirley and I have been friends since 2nd grade. I had just moved to Auburn and on the first day of school I was accidentally put into a 3rd grade class. On the third day my teacher finally figured out that I had no idea what was going on. She asked me what grade I was in and I said 2nd grade. She took me by the hand and led me down the hall to the second grade classroom. My "new teacher" seated me in a double desk next to a sweet girl named Shirley; the teacher asked Shirley if she would be my friend because I was new in the school. Shirley took her job very seriously because we were best of friends through High School! It didn't hurt that we also went to the same church. God is so good. Shirley and I also visited with Julie who we went to High School and church with. We had a good time just catching up and enjoying each others' company.
