Forever Friends

This past monday (Presidents Day) I had the joy of getting together with 2 friends from long ago. Shirley and I have been friends since 2nd grade. I had just moved to Auburn and on the first day of school I was accidentally put into a 3rd grade class. On the third day my teacher finally figured out that I had no idea what was going on. She asked me what grade I was in and I said 2nd grade. She took me by the hand and led me down the hall to the second grade classroom. My "new teacher" seated me in a double desk next to a sweet girl named Shirley; the teacher asked Shirley if she would be my friend because I was new in the school. Shirley took her job very seriously because we were best of friends through High School! It didn't hurt that we also went to the same church. God is so good. Shirley and I also visited with Julie who we went to High School and church with. We had a good time just catching up and enjoying each others' company. It doesn't matter how many years go by, some friends are forever. left to right Shirley, Julie, Lynette

Relax Take Time For Tea

What's in your refrigerator

Sometimes I'm not sure what to write on my blog so I'm just going to share what I've been thinking about.
Before my last tea I was so busy I really didn't have the time or energy to head to the grocery store and pick up all the yummy goodies I would usually get. I decided that I was going to take a laid back attitude. A few friends are dropping by; they're not here to critique, they're here to relax, enjoy and be encouraged! What's in the fridge? I found leftover roast chicken, some veggies, I had a box of chocolates from Christmas. H'ors dourves from a previous tea (in the freezer). You get the idea, use what I've got. It turned out to be a very nice, relaxing tea. I wasn't stressed and we ate very well. When you're hosting an event or just inviting a friend or two, relax. Hospitality isn't about how much money you spent or how fancy everything is, it's about blessing the people coming over. I still used my fancy dishes and I don't think anyone thought they were eating leftovers! We had such a nice time, I'm going to do more entertaining with what God has blessed me with , whatever's available in my cupboards.
I have included the recipe for Curried Chicken Apple/Walnut Tea Sandwiches in the next newsletter. Blessings to all
